Learning how to drive is so much fun, but it can also be quite a pain without the right driving instructor. As you choose the right driving instructor with your child, there are many things that need to be taken into consideration. Yes, price is one of them.

You can definitely pay way too much for driver’s training, and you don’t want to do that. On the flip side, however, you do want a qualified driver, meaning the instructor has the right certifications.

I used Desmond King from Driving Lessons Belfast to teach me how to drive and pass my test.

Of course, you should be aware first of all that one way you can save money is by hiring a trainee instructor. Now, this goes against the idea of hiring a more qualified instructor, but it is an option after all. You also need to be looking at an instructor’s pass rate. This is a big one because you want your child to be provided with the best instruction so that he or she is able to pass the driver’s test.

Of course good training isn’t just about the qualifications of the instructor. They need to be a good fit for your child and a good teacher. This requires patience, undivided attention and the best communication skills. The driving instructor should make it fun for your child as a student, and your child should learn everything he or she needs to know before the big test day.

What kind of car is going to be used for the driver’s training course? You need to be sure that the instructor is going to use a vehicle that is like the one that will be used for the test. This is very important because your teenager will feel more comfortable.

Overall, the student definitely needs to feel comfortable with the instructor as well. Pick a couple instructors and ask to meet with them so you can get a good idea as to what your teenager will expect. Ask them about course training, get them to show you around and just get a good feel for how they carry themselves around students.

I took the driving test three times before I passed. That was back in the 90’s, and I didn’t have a driving instructor. My parents did a great job though. Still, you want your child to have a driving instructor that knows how to train students for the driving test so that they are able to pass it the first time around.
